Tips on creating good quality Photoshop image cutout

Those who are experienced in using Adobe Photoshop CC know that it works great in photo color correction, image masking and creating clipping paths. You can use the software to achieve different end results depending on the type of image and the background on which it lies. Photoshop clipping paths can do the cutouts very efficiently and easily. Those who do photo color correction, provide image masking service or clipping path service providers are also familiar with Photoshop as software that can help towards that end. 1. Create vector paths: Vector paths help to mask off areas of an image. The picture will then be placed within InDesign or Quark XPress as an EPS file. Using the latter (ESP file) helps because it is the only one that can contain vector data. You can create these paths using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Trace over the top of a photograph in Photoshop to create a path and direct the software to save the image such that only the part within the path will appear in the layout program. Clipping path service providers should be able to assist in this. 2. Never use the Magic Wand Tool: Actually you could if you do not mind quick fixes that render poor results. It works great if you want a large area to have same color -- you just select an area of the desired color and add the selection to the existing area. If you want to create a clipping path with the tool, click the area desired above the sculpture, add the selection to your selected area while holding the Shift key, then use Select/Inverse features to select the sculpture instead of the other parts. To create a vector path, use the Paths Palette feature. Select the desired Make Work Path and enter desired tolerance. 3. By hand: This is the best way to create a Photoshop clipping as photo color correction experts, image masking service providers and clipping path service providers will tell you. This is done by using the Pen Tool (in the Photoshop Tools Palette) inside Photoshop. You can perfect the art through repeated practicing. The Pen Tool has a number of features but the only useful ones are Pen Tool, +Add Anchor Point Tool, -Delete Anchor Point Tool and Convert Point Tool. If you are using a Mac, then the Command Key and Alt Key can help flick between these tools instead of selecting them constantly from the Tool bar. You can start experimenting with these tools to know how they work before kicking off the project. The image is traced such that the path is roughly in the center of the anti-aliasing. The computer uses the average of the object color and background color to software the difference between the objects appearing on the background and those appearing on the foreground. Go to Save Path in the Paths menu and then select Clipping Path and don't enter a Flatness value (leave it blank). The image should be 300DPI actual size and CMYK. Save as a Photoshop EPS file in its default files and place it in InDesign. Generate the best on-screen redraw by selecting the View/Display Performance/High Quality Display option. The image has less ghosting and has a smooth and accurate edge. If stuck, get help from photo color correction experts, image masking services or clipping path service provider.
